Humanity Protocol Token Plummets Following $32 Million Private Key Breach

On June 9, 2026, the decentralized identity platform Humanity Protocol reported a major security incident. Attackers allegedly gained access to the private keys of a member associated with the project's foundation. According to the project's announcement, the attackers proceeded to move a substantial number of H tokens and convert them to ether on the open market.

The rapid sale of the compromised tokens caused the price of the H token to decline by over 80%. Preliminary estimates suggest the loss is around $32 million in token value. The project team has acknowledged the incident and indicated that they are working to contain the fallout and coordinate with exchange partners to track and potentially recover some of the stolen assets.
