Zakura, a developer working on Zcash full node software, has provided an update on the project's upcoming privacy and security enhancements. According to Zakura, Zcash plans to implement hash-based signatures—an advanced cryptographic technique that offers defenses against the potential future risks posed by quantum computers and certain AI-based attacks. This feature is targeted for integration in January.

In addition to the planned signature update, the developer highlighted the immediate rollout of a privacy tool that allows users to rotate their transparent addresses. Rotating addresses can help minimize potential tracking of users' activity on the blockchain by making it harder to link transactions to a consistent identity.

These initiatives are part of Zcash's ongoing efforts to strengthen privacy and safeguard against emerging technological threats. While these updates aim to enhance security for Zcash users, the long-term effectiveness of such cryptographic tools will depend on future developments in quantum and AI capabilities, as well as adoption by the user community.
