StepFun Unveils STEPX Neo: AI Agent-Integrated Smartphone Opens Pre-Orders in China

StepFun, a technology company based in China, recently revealed its latest device, the STEPX Neo smartphone. Pre-orders for the phone began in China on October 13, with an initial price of 3,999 yuan. What sets the STEPX Neo apart from conventional smartphones is its operating system, which includes an artificial intelligence agent embedded as a core feature, rather than as a downloadable or separate application.

This design is intended to provide users with direct and seamless access to AI assistance throughout the mobile experience. The integrated AI agent could potentially enable new forms of interaction and functionality beyond standard app-based solutions, though the full range of its capabilities has yet to be detailed. The broader implications for user privacy, security, and compatibility with existing platforms remain to be seen.

As AI-driven devices continue to emerge, the STEPX Neo's approach will likely be observed closely by both the tech industry and consumer groups. Whether this signals a new trend or remains a niche innovation depends on user feedback and how effectively the AI integration addresses everyday needs.
