BIP-110 Faces Implementation Challenges as Miner Support Remains Low

Jason Hughes, Vice President of Development and Engineering at Ocean Mining, has stated that Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110 (BIP-110) appears unlikely to gain sufficient miner support in its current activation window. According to Hughes, node signaling for BIP-110 has been observed between 7% and 15%, while hashrate support from miners remains below 1% ahead of a key block height milestone (block 961632).

BIP-110 proposes protocol changes within the Bitcoin network, and its activation process relies on demonstrable consensus among miners and node operators. Hughes' assessment highlights a continued hesitancy or opposition within the mining community to adopt the proposed improvements at this stage. The low levels of signaling and hashrate support suggest that BIP-110 will not meet the activation thresholds required for implementation during the current window.
